A Message from the Office of the President


As many of you may know, last Friday (January 22, 2016), the community of La Loche, Saskatchewan was the scene of a mass shooting.  

Over the weekend, I learned that one of the victims was Adam Wood, a graduate of our Outdoor Recreation, Parks & Tourism (ORPT) and Education programs. Many members of our Lakehead community knew Adam well. 

We have been in contact with Adam's family, and tomorrow our Communications Bulletin will feature a letter from ORPT and Education staff remembering Adam.

On behalf of our University community, our thoughts are with all of the victims, their families, and those who have been affected by this tragedy.
