Connecting with alum across the pond

A playful social media conversation with alum living in the UK turned into an organized meet-up event held at what else - an English pub in London!  The small group enjoyed some camaraderie, a care package from home, and memories to last a lifetime.

Many thanks to Alumni Association board member, Jennelle Therrien for her assistance in making it a reality, Marc Gagnon for his engaging conversations on social media, and Justin Hatt (HBSc '04) for coordinating the efforts on the ground in London.

HBScN (Nursing) Class of 1981 Reunion

The Nursing Class of 1981 held a reunion during Homecoming Weekend, on October 2-4, 2015.   Class organizer, Anna Khanjari (née Pellegrino) was instrumental in ensuring the group rekindled friendships and reminisced about their time at Lakehead- to the delight fellow alumnae:

I'm from the Nursing Class of  '85 and although we didn't manage to score tickets to the Gala, we did enjoy three wonderful days of camaraderie. Most of us attended the School of Nursing open house and those of us who lived on campus enjoyed a walk about of the campus and residence. Three of us managed to greet the sunrise at Hillcrest Park on Sunday. We unanimously agreed that our years at Lakehead were fantabulous and that we enjoyed a superior education. As a group, our successes are as varied as we are but the foundation of our education was the base for those successes. - Sylvia Amanda (via Facebook)
