Maclean’s University Rankings have, once again, included Lakehead University among the country’s Top 10 primarily undergraduate universities. When compared to Ontario universities in its category, Lakehead places second overall.
Lakehead is ranked number one in Canada for research in the category of undergraduate universities by Re$earch Infosource.
“This ranking further establishes Lakehead as an exceptional University for research,” said Lakehead President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Brian Stevenson. “This is an achievement that students, staff, faculty and alumni can be proud of.”
Lakehead University welcomes visiting Fulbright scholar, Dr. James Hollenbeck, to the Orillia campus this fall, where he will conduct research and teach with the Department of Sustainability Sciences. Dr. Hollenbeck is a professor of Science Education and Coordinator of Science Education at Indiana University Southeast.

Building on the recommendations from the Provost’s Task Force on the Academic Structure and Governance at the Orillia Campus, President & Vice-Chancellor Dr. Brian Stevenson announced a new title and new responsibilities for Dean & Vice-Provost (Orillia campus) Dr. Kim Fedderson.
Lakehead University is receiving $2 million to support four new Canada Research Chairs whose important research and work includes the fields of green chemicals, Indigenous mental health, fisheries, and human diversity.
